Diabetes appears to be more frequent with people these days. Hence, Emmaus has started a separate program for this alone, since almost 377 cases were reported only in 2005. Most cases needed insulin due to the sugar level being very high and couldn’t afford it. Emmaus Hospital needs all the help it can get, since several of these cases are already showing severe systemic complications which are untreatable.
