Physiotherapy is a “King-pin” in the treatment of leprosy and other disabilities.
Physiotherapy is a coordinated effort between not only the patient, the doctor and the physiotherapist but also the shoemakers, carpenters and health-educators. Each one understands the dynamics and intensity of the problem and how best it could be solved by cost-effective methods.

Pre-Operative Assessments
In leprosy, where uncared for anesthetic feet leads to a life time of misery from a simple trophic plantar ulcer becoming infected to slow destruction of bones and the normal architecture of the foot being lost to gross deformity, total inability of a patient to walk, to amputation and in several neglected cases to painless, virulent infections leading to septicemia and death, early and proper intervention can save a life time of misery.
